Non-Shelter Services
Through Associação Comadres we are able to provide the following non-shelter services for women and children who need support transitioning from intimate partner/ domestic abuse or violence.

You can download the Comadres’ Safety Plan here and fill it out yourself over time
You can set up an in-person or online Safety Plan Session with a Comadre to support you in creating your safety plan. Please understand that we are a small organization and space for sessions might be limited. To contact us for a session, please call or if it's safe to do so, email us.

The Comadres are able to support women in getting information, finding and accessing resources and building resilience throughout their process of gaining independence and security. We may be able to help navigate within the following areas:
Public Services (schools, residency, taxes, health care, police reporting, filing protection orders, etc)
Professional Sectors (legal support, accounting, therapies, medical, etc)
Vocational Services (education, financial planning, job search, etc)
You can set up an in-person or online consultation with a Comadre to support you in accessing social work support. Please understand that we are a small organization. As such, space for sessions is limited and is prioritized for women who need this support in the context of domestic/ intimate partner abuse or violence. The Comadres are able to support a limited number of women a year who are leaving abusive/violent relationships and need logistical and/or financial support to get ‘home’ to safe family, friends or another shelter. We are able to provide:
online or in-person purchasing of bus, train or plane tickets within Portugal or the EU
support contacting and communicating with safe family, friends or another shelter
support researching and connecting you to social services where ever you are going
